Program Overview

The Telfer Finance Society Mentorship Program is a 3-month development program aimed at increasing the level of preparation for students interested in finance careers by providing forum to learn and create contacts with professionals in the industry. This program is developed to connect eager undergraduate students with either experienced upper-year students or industry professionals to facilitate personal and professional growth. This initiative creates a unique environment for knowledge exchange and career guidance, nurturing the development of tomorrows leaders.

Time Commitment

Students typically invest 1-2 hours per month, scheduled as 30-minute to 1-hour bi-weekly virtual or in-person coffee chats with a mentee. This approach allows for a more personalized experience where both the mentor and mentee can set expectations and decide on the breakdown of their meetings. Students should also budget an additional 1-2 hours per month for mandatory workshops on networking, leadership, and introductions to the various fields across finance.
